To the dreamy land.....

I jumped when a friend(from the good old schooldays-Vidhya Kini) ,an architect was designing a home and called me up to ask if I would be interested in designing cushions with shapes....like castles, butterflies and flowers for two beautiful young girls. And I was more than happy to do so....the color palette was to be in the family of purple and pink to co ordinate with the bed linen ,curtains and wall decor of their newly made room. I was given the freedom to select the fabrics and prints after being given the brief. And when you are given the freedom , it's fun....I picked up prints and played around with them and this is what I created at the workshop in cotton fabric. And to be frank, I really did enjoy it. It took me back to the time we were kids with dreams in our eyes. I made a few of these to adorn my room too.....do we ever grow up ?.....aha....I don't think so. There's always that child in us that we never let go .

Colors to brighten up your mood

You don't need to change everything in your space to brighten up ur mood.....all u need to do is add a few bright Colors by way of cushions, danglers, floor cushions, rugs.......not much ...just a few changes and see the difference...and the investment is not much either. If you have a budget constraint, invest in a few colorful solid color cushions to your existing one.  This is all it takes to make a difference and you will love it. See your mood change as well. Try it out. You could pick up a few shaped cushions as well to make a change to the regular cushions. What you see here are handcrafted in our workshop. If you want to have a few of these in Colors that you desire, get in touch with us. We will be more than happy to hear from you.

The lotus pond

The lotus...a flower that grows in mud yet stands out....a symbol of purity and piousness and an inspiration for many designers. And I.... love it too. You can contemporarize it, stylize it without making it lose its essence and beauty. I played around with a the motif and worked on it with gold thread and sequence on a background of orange and red raw silk  and this is how it looks. Imagine it on a white sofa or even a beige one...it will simply light up the room and if it is an occasion to celebrate or a festive season, this would bring in the light and joy. This was picked up immediately and now  housed in UK. Its feels good when products designed and handmade at the workshop finds space in homes in a different part of the world.... :)

You could co-ordinate this with a light and bright, sun gold orange as a runner with sequence just scarcely scattered  and no borders. That would complete the look.

Love for Pink and Fushia

It was an absolute pleasure designing these Pink and Fushia cushion covers in varied sizes with different fabrics and textures for a friend ,whose home is more like out of the pages of Elle magazine. It is amazing how technology has helped communicate better with an immediate response. That's how I work with my friends and clients from different parts of the globe. We went through visuals that appealed to her, then she sent back designs that she loved from my face book page and we put it all together and created these designs that were made at my cute little workshop. Her husband ,who travels frequently to India , picked up the delivery .She sent me these photographs that you see here as soon as she put hem up on her sofa. And I am sure you agree that they do look pretty. Nothing makes me smile more than when the efforts of designing and making them pleases the person for whom it is made.

At the workshop we worked with fabrics ranging from brocade, silk, cotton, sequence and woven textures .We combined these as I was sure it would be adorable and beautiful and which I must say how it turned out to be. We give our best shot to deliver quality work and as always these designs would not be repeated for anyone else, that you could say is our USP. A combination of all these fabrics is pretty exciting to me and the outcome is what you can see. Hope you all love it as much as we loved creating it. you may also take a peak sneak at Pinky's blog- www.pinkzpassion.blogspot.ca

I will definitely try to be more regular now with updates from my side as to what is happening in my little workshop.

the Christmas feel with my brainstorming pal...Reena Gherwada

I went into hibernation again..but I guess that's me and maybe its more to do with my mood swings, which is oh so normal....but let me tell you about how, I had such a fantastic time creating designs from an inspiration that my friend sent me to design cushion covers for her room. She sent pics of her Christmas tree decor and  wanted  me to design her cushions inspired by the decor . And what I love most about her, is she is so full of ideas . She is simply brimming with them. Brainstorming with her , absolutely stimulates my creative side of the brain and helps me grow and think out of the box.Its always a pleasure designing with her as it opens up new roads. We picked up bright colors for her cushion covers and worked on it with ribbons- printed and plain ones...and at places frilly ones. And when it comes to eventually making it, you have to stand with the tailor , right over his head, so that the designs come out exactly as desired and with the designs to maintain the quality. Reena Gherwada, its always a pleasure brainstorming and designing for you.
